Lab Updates – New Technologies

Our Digital Journey

Since taking the decision to embark on the digitisation of Crown & Bridge, we have embraced this technology to improve and enhance the service we offer to our dental surgeries.

From a simple, milled metal substructure for a ceramic bonded crown, we can now offer, milled on site, zirconia single crown and multiple unit bridges all the way up to complex implant crowns.

We are able to create implant restorations on major systems now, as well as receiving digital files from a variety of systems, as well as accepting .stl files from laboratories and surgeons for milling their own work on our in-house system.

The Next Step

We are now in the process of choosing a digital printer for the production of models.

The high cost of disposal of dental models and waste materials gives us the impetus to start this exciting next step.

As well as models, it will give us the opportunity to manufacture surgical guides for implants, create trimmed orthodontic study models. But for those surgeons who would like a digital file instead of models, we would still provide these as well.
